Inside, the GLE receives updated features, materials and finishes previously exclusive to the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV. With electrified engines and luxurious new appointments, the GLE redefines the luxury SUV to its core. When the Off-Road Mode is active, the central display will show a view from under the front of the car, thus the hood becoming virtually transparent.The refreshed GLE, with its striking looks inside and out, receives a host of versatile new technologies. The Burmester surround sound system now also features the personal sound setup as well as the Dolby Atmos immersive audio experience. Mercedes claims that the voice assistant that activates when it “hears” “Hey Mercedes” is now more interactive and capable of learning, even recognizing the position of the occupants that command it.Ĭustomers can choose Piano Black Flowing Lines, chrome, and carbon fiber inserts in the dashboard. They are also getting the latest-gen MBUX and two 12.3-inch displays. That is one of the ways the driver will be able to command the infotainment and other features. There is a new three-spoke steering wheel in there with touch sensors on the horizontal spokes. Meanwhile, the AMG Line brings 21-inch wheels on the Coupe version or 22-inch forged ones in a ten-twin spoke design for the range-topping Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe. Two new wheel designs are also available in 19-inch and 20-inch sizes. Sodalite blue metallic and Manufaktur alpine grey solid are the two new colors in the lineup. An 11 kW charger is standard equipment for plug-in hybrids and there is an optional 60 kW DC fast charger available on request. The electric range has slightly increased as the GLE PHEVs can drive with zero emissions up to 109 kilometers (68 miles), according to WLTP. The plug-in hybrids come with a setup that includes a permanently excited 100 kW synchronous motor and a system output of up to 280 kW (381 PS and 375 HP) and a system torque of 750 Nm (553 lb-ft). It does 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.1 seconds and hits a top speed of 210 km/h.
